Why am I doing this?
In my 25 years working with nonprofits, money was repeatedly the issue that caused the most problems, kept me up at night, and often limited the vision of the organization.
Because I wasn’t a finance professional, but I was in charge of the organization’s finances, I had to teach myself how to create budgets and projections and to monitor resources and pivot quickly. The learning curve was steep!
Over time, my self-taught strategies were embraced by organizational leaders and board members because I used straightforward language (I didn’t even know all the finance jargon), and I made it easy to focus on what’s most important.
I’d like to share that hard-earned knowledge! Much of the nonprofit world is in financial distress right now. Offering individualized budget support is a way I can help.
